
Anna Croad - violin, regularly performs with chamber orchestras including the New London Soloists' Chamber Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia, English Sinfonia, Oxford Philomusica and the Belmont Ensemble, in London, the UK and abroad. She also enjoys regular work with symphony orchestras including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra. As a soloist, Anna has performed works such as the Bruch Violin Concerto and the Bach Double Violin Concerto to critical acclaim and performs her own arrangements for solo violin at many events in and around London. She has toured across the country with various chamber music ensembles providing music for a wide range of audiences. Many of these performances also incorporated the Live Music Now! scheme.
Deborah Pritchard - double bass, has performed classically with the New European Orchestra, the European Union Youth Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra (String Scheme). She has performed popular music with artists such as Andrea Boccelli and Enya, on the Parkinson show and at the World Music Awards in Monte Carlo. In addition to playing the double bass, Deborah is an experienced composer. Her work has been performed by the Allegri String Quartet, the BBC Singers, the Philharmonia Chamber Orchestra, the Composers Ensemble and the Oxford Philomusica. Her music has been broadcast by BBC Radio Three, recorded by the NMC label and shortlisted by BBC Radio Four. Deborah is currently studying for a DPhil in composition at Worcester College, Oxford.
Libby Doherty (Nee Croad) - violin, specialises in string quartets and chamber music. She has performed in many prominent venues including the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall and the Purcell Room, and has played in the prestigious Haydn Chamber Music Festival as lead violin. Libby has performed the Kabalevsky Violin Concerto and the Bach Double Violin Concerto as a soloist. She also premiered Deborah Pritchard's work Saphirus at the Royal Academy of Music to great acclaim. This was in fact Libby's final recital for which she received first-class honours.
Together they are Blue Topaz - a stylish and unique string trio comprising two violins and double bass performing a wide range of styles, fusing classical instruments with popular and jazz sounds.
