Violinist Hartmut Ometzberger, born in Vienna, plays internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, with concerts and recitals in England, the Netherlands (recorded for Dutch television), Belgium, Germany and Austria and the US. Hartmut worked intensively as a freelance musician in the Netherlands, playing with the Radio Symfonie Orkest and The Residentie Orkest, among others and led the second violins in a Munich-based chamber orchestra.

Since 2007, Hartmut has collaborated with soprano Diana Jacklin, developing and creating recital programs under the name The Diva and the Fiddler, to critical acclaim. Several composers in Europe as well as in the US have written pieces for The Diva and the Fiddler. Last summer, The Diva and the Fiddler performed a world premiere in Boston of Duos written for them by American composer Jennie Gottschalk. Hartmut coordinates his busy performing schedule from Vienna, where he lives and runs a successful teaching studio. In addition, he regularly teaches masterclasses in Germany.

Hartmut graduated from The Royal Academy of Music in London with a B(Mus) degree with honours and the LRAM certificate. An important influence were his years of study and friendship with Emanuel Hurwitz, former leader of the Philharmonia and Aeolian quartet. For four years, Hartmut worked as Hurwitz' assistant at Youth Music Centre. For more information, see Hartmut's website www.violinist.at/CV.html
